Atlanta, GA — Urban Expositions created two vice president positions as part of the growth strategy for its gift shows and other exhibitions.

Donna Guess was promoted to vice president of operations, and Dirk von Gal was named industry vice president of gift shows. Both positions include responsibility for most of the shows in Urban’s 34-show portfolio, which consists largely of gift shows around the U.S.

“As we continue to grow, expand and diversify our trade show portfolio, we want to ensure that we continue to uphold the customer service levels and attention to detail that both exhibitors and attendees have come to expect from being part of our events,” said Doug Miller, company president.

Guess will oversee event operations for all of Urban’s shows and will continue as vice president/sales management for the company’s souvenir and resort shows. She joined Urban in 1996 and is a former show director for the Miami Gift Show.

Von Gal was most recently show director for the semi-annual California Gift Show and has been with the company since 2011. His promotion gives him responsibility for planning and sales for the entire gift sector.

Urban also named Leanna John group show director for the California Gift Show and San Francisco International Gift Fair. She was named show director for the San Francisco show in 2011. Evan Shoda was named sales manager for the two shows.

In addition, Matt Miller was named sales manager for the Las Vegas Souvenir & Resort Gift Show. He will remain show manager for the Gulf Coast Gift ShowOrlando Gift Show and Orlando Cash & Carry Show.
