UBM Finalizes Restructuring along Geographical Lines; Creates Americas Division

New York, NY– UBM plc marked the completion of its restructuring project by announcing its operations in North and South America were being combined into a single division based in New York.

UBM Americas will launch immediately as a combination of UBM Connect and UBM Tech. UBM Brazil will join the fold in January, giving UBM Americas about 800 employees in 14 locations and annual revenues of approximately $355 million. Sally Shankland, CEO of UBM Connect, will be CEO of the new unit.

“UBM Americas will help the events-led marketing services business in the U.S. grow to its potential,” said Tim Cobbold, CEO of UBM plc. “It will also leverage scale and allow smarter community insights, audience analytics and product development. Doing those things better equips UBM to be more innovative and agile in serving the commercial and professional communities of which we are a part.”

UBM Americas is highly diversified, serving sectors such as Information Technology, Electronics, Games, IT Security, Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Catering, Construction, Cruise Lines and Fine Chemicals. Its trade show portfolio includes the UBM Canon division, which organizes the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West, which ranked No. 46 on the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 list, Class of 2013.

UBM Americas will take its place alongside UBM Asia and UBM Live, which operates in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
