CHICAGO — Trade Show Executive is launching an editorial board of executive show organizers who will provide guidance and ideas for content that investigates and shares best practices for a stronger, safer, better trade show industry in the face of this major disruption—COVID-19, said TSE Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Gabrielle Weiss.

“We have tapped the powerful brain trust of TSE’s readership and supporters to create ideas, principles and tactics that can be considered and perhaps replicated industry-wide,” Weiss said.

Members of the board so far include:

Gary Shapiro, President and CEO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA); Hervé Sedky, President, Reed Exhibitions Americas;  Brian Field, Interim President and CEO, Emerald Expositions; Mary Pat Heftman, Vice Chair, Winsight Exhibitions; Rochelle Richardson, Senior Vice President of Expositions and Events, Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association; Ken McAvoy, Executive Vice President, Informa Markets USA; Nancy Walsh, President–Fashion, Informa Markets; Nicole Hallada, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions and Marketing, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM); Kim Althoff, Vice President Sales, Trade Shows and Media, ISSA — The Worldwide Cleaning Industry; Chris Dolnack Senior Vice President and CMO, NSSF—The Firearm Industry Trade Association; and Greg Topalian, CEO Clarion Events North America.

“Our exhibition industry needs leadership, information and best practices now more than ever,” CTA’s Shapiro said. “Trade Show Executive can be the hub with all our input being spokes on the wheel. We must transform quickly to move forward in this reality-changing era.”

“I’m thrilled to get a group of like-minded people together to share their lines of site on these current challenges,” AEM’s Hallada said. “No doubt, multiple heads coming together will elevate all of us in what we’re facing right now.”

Weiss envisions the board as a resource for topic development across the spectrum of TSE’s platform, including the print magazine, the TSE Talks podcast series as well as, its branded face-to-face events.

“I am incredibly thankful for the support and input of our editorial board,” said Weiss. “Having such a supportive and engaged readership community is the ultimate goal of any trade media group especially during a time of such great uncertainty industry-wide and around the world.”
