Oceanside, CA – Two eye-catching issues of Trade Show Executive (TSE) were honored with APEX Awards for Publishing Excellence this Summer.

Kathleen Maloney, TSE’s creative director since 2011, conceived and designed the award-winning artwork that illustrated two feature articles published last year.

The Research Roundup article in the December 2013 issue received a Grand Award from APEX in the category of “Design & Illustration – Infographics.”  The TSE special report, Is the Convention Center Model Broken?, ran in the March 2013 issue and received an Award of Excellence in the “Design & Illustration – Spreads” category.

“Kathleen is a gifted designer and an important member of the TSE team,” said Darlene Gudea, TSE president. “Her ability to create designs that express rather than just impress is what sets her apart from other designers. All of us at TSE could not be prouder of Kathleen and these APEX awards,” Gudea said.

“It is quite an honor to be recognized by APEX,” Maloney said. “I feel so blessed just to be doing what I love – designing artwork that helps illustrate the top-notch feature articles written by TSE’s talented editors. These awards are the icing on the cake.”
