Trumbull, CT – JD Events acquired the assets of ShowBiz Expo from MindShare Ventures on October 6th. ShowBiz Expo was founded by Bob and Nalini Lasiewicz in 1983 who later sold the show to Advanstar Communications. Reed Exhibitions and PBI Media are also former owners of the event. The 2004 show was postponed; JD Events plans to hold the event in Fall 2005.
The show features about 200 exhibitors of equipment for filmmaking, television, commercials, special event videography, digital video and corporate digital media and also showcases locations. Together with its conference, it draws producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, lighting specialists and costume designers. It will be produced by the executive team of JD Events. Jerry Brandt, President, All Media Marketing, will chair the conference. He has a 25-year background in the entertainment industry including a stint at Reed Business.
