ATLANTA — In 2019, virtual events were valued at close to $78 billion, according to Forbes, and they were expected to grow at a pace of 23% annually from 2020 to 2027. Unquestionably, the pandemic has only sped that up even more.
In response to the growing need for training in virtual event design, the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) — the international body for companies who own, produce or provide full-service management of events — has added Virtual Events Institute (VEI) certification as an official member benefit discount.
VEI will provide an official discount to SISO members for its online education platform for global event and marketing professionals, valued at $975. The 11-module on-demand program includes courses on every aspect of virtual event design, from strategic content design to increasing audience engagement to monetizing virtual events, and culminates in the industry-recognized VEI qualification.
“The pandemic has accelerated the use of digital services that our members provide to their customers,” said Doug Emslie, SISO Chair and Tarsus Group CEO. “Working with VEI will help our members continue to refine and improve their digital offerings and we are also excited to continue to share best practices to deliver more opportunities for our member customers to learn, network and do commerce.”
