Atlanta, GA – Shepard Exposition Services announced it was now guaranteeing on-time delivery of exhibitor freight shipments thanks to a new agreement with its logistics carrier.
The pact moved Shepard to the top of the unidentified carrier’s priority list, enabling Shepard to guarantee its customers that an exhibitor’s goods will be delivered on time, said Richard Maples, executive vice president of sales. “It’s basically the same high-caliber service that they’ve been receiving, but now it’s on time or it’s free,” Maples said.
Shepard acts as general services contractor for 500-600 events annually. Exhibitors may make arrangements for pickup and delivery of their freight through Shepard’s online event manual, and then track the progress of the precious cargo all the way to the show floor. Shippers are not charged for driver wait-time or other special fees, and Shepard’s new status as a preferred customer means it has the carrier’s ear. “We allow for any potentialities such as weather or other delays,” Maples said. “We understand what needs to be done and are able to do more to solve problems that arise.”
