London, England – Reed Business Information (RBI) has agreed in principle to sell its UK Travel Publishing Group to Clive Jacobs, an entrepreneur who will use the portfolio as the basis of TW Group Ltd.
The UK Travel Publishing Group consists of print and online properties including Travolution and Gazeteers.com as well as training programs and seminars for travel-industry professionals.
The terms of the agreement were not released.
Jacobs said the transaction was led by Simon Ferguson, who spent six years as publishing director of Reed’s UK Travel operations. He will become chief executive of TW Group Ltd.
Jacobs’ background in travel media includes the founding of Holiday Autos, which was acquired in 2003 by lastminute.com
