Reed Names Michael Lyons as AIBTM Exhibition Director

Norwalk, CT -Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has named Michael Lyons as exhibition director for AIBTM, The Americas Meetings & Events Exhibition. Lyons, who will be based in Norwalk, CT, will begin his new role on October 1. Most recently, Lyons served as vice president, managed services, The Hub Centers for Meeting & Collaboration.

Lyons, who has worked in the travel, hospitality and meetings industries for more than 30 years, has also held senior-level positions with AMR Meetings & Incentives, Global Events Partners and McGettigan Partners. He has also served on the boards of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB) and Association of Destination Management Executives (ADME).

Launched in 2011, AIBTM is a hosted-buyer event tailored to the U.S. market. In 2012, AIBTM attracted more than 2,250 attendees, an increase of 50% over 2011. The number of exhibiting companies grew from 183 in 2011 to 194 in 2012, a 5% increase. The next AIBTM will be held June 11-13, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
