PCMA Teams Up with the Wharton School of Business to Give Industry Execs an Edge

RENEE DIIULIO, SENIOR EDITOR

Chicago – Show organizers can advance their financial knowledge and strategic thinking with a new program at the upcoming Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) 50th Annual Meeting  in Philadelphia next month. Leading professors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania will teach portions of their curriculum to participants of the Executive Edge Program. The invitation-only, two-day Executive Edge Program will focus on long-term investment strategies as well as scenario planning and critical thinking.

PCMA’s annual meeting will take place January 8-11 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The invitation-only, two-day Executive Edge Program, will be offered the first two days of the meeting. Senior-level event executives will immerse themselves in lectures and workgroups, with discussions facilitated by the professors.

Several sponsors helped defray the cost of the cost of the program: the PCMA Education Foundation, Canadian Tourism Commission and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. As a result,  the program, which would normally cost over $2,000 a day, will be offered to PCMA meeting attendees for $345.
