Dallas, TX – The business environment in North America and Europe is improving and will help support the meetings and events industry in 2014, according to new research from Meetings Professionals International (MPI).

The Winter edition of MPI’s Meetings Outlook said meeting professionals surveyed in the U.S. and Canada predicted a 5% increase in overall business conditions, and their European colleagues said conditions on the continent would improve 4%.

The survey was featured in the debut of the new quarterly format for Meetings Outlook, which is available at no cost to MPI members and nonmembers. Survey questions now focus more on what lies ahead rather than a snapshot of current market conditions.

“This new report is more comprehensive and insightful,” said Christian Savelli, senior director of business intelligence for MPI. “We believe event professionals will find it to be a valuable resource for strategic planning.”

Meetings Outlook will be mailed to MPI members each quarter as part of The Meeting Professional magazine and can also be found online at www.mpiweb.org/meetingsoutlook.
