TSE STAFF

Frankfurt  – Messe Frankfurt is restructuring its Entertainment, Media & Creation trade show business to bring together all of its live entertainment, cultural and creative events under the Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound trade show brands. Together, those two brands account for seven worldwide events.

As part of the reorganization, Kai Hattendorf, vice president of digital business since 2011, also will oversee the new business sector and spearhead the reorganization. On matters related to the trade show business, Hattendorf will report directly to Messe Frankfurt Exhibition senior vice president Stephan Kurzawski. In the digital business sector, he will continue to report to Klaus Reinke, also a senior vice president of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. Cordelia von Gymnich, who previously worked with the  Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound brands, will now oversee the Paperworld, Christmasworld and Creativeworld travel shows within the Consumer Goods & Leisure division.

The move was made to take advantage of an increasing emphasis on digitization in music, lighting and sound sectors. “By appointing Hattendorf to this position, we are leveraging important synergies between digital media, business models and business processes,” Kurzawski said.

Musikmesse is held each Spring at the Frankfurt Trade Fair, with its most recent show in mid-April. Prolight+Sound is held concurrently with Musikmesse.
