Dallas, TX – Rick McConnell was formally named president of Hanley Wood Exhibitions, six weeks after being appointed to the job on an interim basis following the resignation of Galen Poss.
The company also moved Shawn Pierce into McConnell’s previous position of senior vice president of the division, which produces a dozen trade shows in the construction sector.
Pierce, who joined Hanley Wood in 2000, was most recently vice president of divisional operations and worked closely with the e-media staff. His new job includes increased emphasis on the development of e-media initiatives.
“Shawn has played a vital role in guiding technology efforts and revolutionizing the way traditional operations are done,” said McConnell. “His new position will allow him to concentrate his expertise on e-media that will open up new revenue opportunities.”
Pierce took part in the development of Hanley Woods’ ADAPT attendee-tracking system and CONNECT matchmaking tool.
McConnell joined Hanley Wood as a show director in 2001 after holding management positions with Miller Freeman/VNU and MAGIC International.
