Portland, ME – Diversified Communications has made its second expansion of the Summer in Great Britain, picking up Accountex, an exhibition for accountants and financial directors.
The August acquisition followed the June announcement that Diversified UK would launch Commercial Kitchen, a trade show for commercial and institutional food equipment, in Birmingham next year.
The acquisition also expanded Diversified’s presence in the general business sector. The Maine-based organizer acquired The Sleeter Group, Inc. in June. Sleeter is a provider of professional education and training aimed at accountants and small businesses.
“With the acquisition of Sleeter Group in the U.S. and now Accountex in the U.K., we are well positioned to continue the expansion of our business community sector,” said Oakley Dyer, corporate vice president of strategy and corporate development.
Accountex was launched in 2012 by The Prysm Group and annually draws about 5,000 attendees from Britain and the rest of Europe. Event Director Scott Hider will continue to manage the show. The next 2016 Accountex will be held in May 11-12 at ExCel in London.
The Prysm Group portfolio still has 20 events in Britain for small business and healthcare professionals.
