San Diego, CA – Joe Terzi was named president and CEO of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau (ConVis) after serving in the position on an interim basis since March.
Terzi, who replaced David Peckinpaugh, retired this year as vice president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts and has been involved in the San Diego tourism industry since 1995.
“His in-depth knowledge and decades of experience and leadership in the hospitality industry will guide the bureau through these difficult economic times,” said Andy Fichthorn, ConVis board chairman. “We know that Joe is the right person for the current challenges.”
Terzi said the newly formed Tourism Marketing District in San Diego would provide some welcomed additional revenue to fund promotions aimed at business and leisure travelers.
