Torrance, CA – Irene Sperling has been promoted to VP & Associate Publisher of Trade Show Executive magazine, announced Darlene Gudea, Publisher & Editor. “This promotion recognizes Irene’s significant contributions to the growth of Trade Show Executive magazine,” says Gudea. TSE has grown over 200% from 2003 to 2004, and is on track to nearly triple in size in 2005. “By any measure – ad sales, new advertising vehicles , new business ideas and her leadership role on the board of the local IAEM chapter – Irene has gone above and beyond the call of duty. We are grateful for her contributions.”
A veteran with over 25 years of experience in the show management and publishing industry, Irene Sperling joined Trade Show Executive in September 2003 as the Vice President of Sales & Special Projects.
Sperling began her trade show career in 1979 as Assistant Marketing Coordinator for the trade shows and seminars of Security World Publishing, owners of the International Security Conference. After Cahners Exposition Group (now Reed Exhibitions) purchased the company in 1980, Sperling became Assistant Show Manager for CEG’s Kitchen & Bath Show and Office Products Show. She joined Tradeshow Week as Advertising Manager in 1980, where she worked her way up through the ranks to Co-Publisher (1983) and VP/Director of Sales & Marketing (1986), and Publisher in March 2000. Sperling retired from Tradeshow Week in August 2002 and joined Trade Show Executive magazine a year later.
She is a member of IAEM and has served on several regional and national committees of IAEM. Sperling has also spoken at numerous industry events in the U.S., Mexico and Russia.
