Munich, Germany – Britain’s Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd. acquired the rights to the International Converting Exhibition (ICE) series from its founder, nimble shows & media GmbH. The shows serve the paper, film and foil converting industry and are held every two years in Munich, Manchester and Shanghai. Financial terms of the agreement were not announced.
Michael Boyle, managing director of nimble shows & media GmbH, will serve in a new advisory role for the company. “With Michael Boyle and Franz Hermann (deputy managing director), we aim to continue to develop the ICE brand as the leading event brand in the converting sector,” said Stephen Brooks, chairman of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd.
Mack Brooks Exhibitions is part of the Mack Brooks Group and produces shows for the railroad, sheet metal, tunnelling and airport industries.
The original ICE show was launched in Munich in 1999. The ICE 2007 show at Munich Order Centre drew 4,200 attendees and 270 exhibitors. The next event will take place November 24-26, 2009 and is nearly sold out. The ICE China show debuted in January 2008 with more than 1,900 attendees and around 100 exhibitors. ICE UK will launch March 4-5, 2009.
