Industry Collaboration Releases AllSecure 2.0

ATLANTA — A group of industry partners have announced the release of Version 2 of the best-practice guide, AllSecure, which is perfectly timed with the ramped-up vaccination efforts and a new presidential administration in the U.S. The new guidelines — a collaboration between SISO and Clarion Events, Emerald, Informa Markets, Reed Exhibitions and Tarsus — set the bar on holding safe events, trade shows and exhibitions of all sizes. announced Version 2 of the best-practice guide, AllSecure, which is perfectly timed with the ramped-up vaccination efforts and a new presidential administration in the U.S. The new guidelines — a collaboration between SISO and Clarion Events, Emerald, Informa Markets, Reed Exhibitions and Tarsus — set the bar on holding safe events, trade shows and exhibitions of all sizes.

“The SISO Task Force that spent a lot of time revising the AllSecure Guidelines 2.0 included senior executives from the largest organizers in the world,” said David Audrain, CEO of ExpoDevCo and Executive Director of SISO. “These are guidelines they have been working with since last spring, and they are using them for all their events moving forward.”

The document outlines safety measures show organizers are taking to ensure the health and safety of visitors, exhibitors, contractors and staff in explicit detail, organized by four “cornerstones:” physical distancing, cleaning and hygiene, protect and detect, and communication. It addresses not only how to put the safety measures in place, but also the reason for doing so, for everything from staggered admission to mask disposal to temperature screening. The guidelines also make recommendations, such as applying for the ISSA GBAC Star accreditation. This externally validates cleaning and hygiene measures being taken to ensure events meet or exceed biorisk standards.

Communicating these measures is as critical as taking them, the guide emphasizes: “Communication among all stakeholders is a critical success factor in this program achieving its overall objective to provide assurance and build confidence for all people who participate in industry gatherings.”

“The rapid rollout of the various COVID-19 vaccines provides the industry with some confidence that our customers are seeing a definite timeline for a return to shows, but of course it can’t come quickly enough for us!” said Audrain. “These guidelines are a very effective way to ensure the safety of attendees and exhibitors at all of our shows, and we will be providing more in-depth case studies to provide the industry with examples they can learn from and use at their own events.”
