Hi-Tech Rentals Acquired by PRG

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

New Windsor, NY – Trade show audio-visual company Hi-Tech Rentals Inc. was acquired by Production Resource Group (PRG) on July 2. The deal expands PRG’s reach into the exhibition market and enables Hi-Tech to tap into PRG’s market-leading position in the entertainment industry.

The terms of the deal were not revealed. The new company will be known as PRG/Hi-Tech. Al Dyess, Hi-Tech president, will remain at the helm of the Hi-Tech Rentals operation.

Hi-Tech Rentals will continue to provide audio, video, lighting and other services for trade shows and events out of its Atlanta headquarters and warehouse, which will serve double duty as a depot for PRG equipment. Hi-Tech Rentals also has facilities in Las Vegas and Orlando.

Jere Harris, chairman and CEO of PRG, said Hi-Tech Rentals was appealing due to its high-profile in the trade show and events industry and its pool of skilled workers. “Hi-Tech has built an outstanding reputation, a solid inventory and a strong customer base in these growing market segments,” Harris said.

PRG counts trade shows among its customers, but it also provides lighting and other technical services for corporate events, concert tours, television and the film industry. Based in the New York City area, PRG has 19 offices in the United States, Canada, Japan and Great Britain.
