Dallas, TX – Hanley Wood, LLC changed its executive reporting structure to tie its trade show unit in more closely to its other business media functions. The Dallas-based divisional president will report to Peter Goldstone, the president of the Business Media division, who is based in Washington, DC. The president of the exhibitions division previously reported to Frank Anton, the CEO of Hanley Wood, LLC, who is also based in Washington, DC.
“The rationale is to continue what we initiated a few years ago, which was to look at all customer-facing activity that we could bring more integration and collaboration to,” Goldstone told Trade Show Executive. “This formalizes the desire to look at audiences and how we serve them more holistically.”
Goldstone stressed that the exhibitions division would remain a separate entity under Rick McConnell, who was named acting president when long-time president Galen Poss and executive vice president Michael Green left the company June 15.
In a memo to Hanley Wood staff, Anton said the integration would produce operational efficiencies that were especially important during the economic downturn and would generate new business opportunities and increased revenue. “This streamlined structure will make it much easier for trade show teams to work with their magazine/e-media counterparts who are serving the same markets, such as the World of Concrete show and Concrete Construction magazine,” he said. “I am convinced that this holistic approach to serving our audiences will benefit Hanley Wood’s customers and, under Peter’s leadership, create significant sector growth and business opportunities for the company.”
Hanley Wood Exhibitions runs 17 trade shows, primarily in the construction sector, including three on the TSE Gold 100 rankings. Goldstone praised Poss and Green for building a top-notch operation with the key shows in several market sectors. He added that his business media division had many of the leading publications in the same sectors.
