Washington, DC – Hanley Wood, a leading BtoB media company serving the residential construction market, acquired the National Roofing Contractors Association Annual Meeting & Trade Show on May 18th. HW also entered into a 45-year sponsorship agreement naming NRCA the official sponsor of the trade show. With this latest acquisition, HW has grown from one show to 12 in four years, and its shows will encompass over 2 million square feet of exhibit space.
NRCA is North America’s largest roofing exhibition, showcasing the latest products, materials, equipment and services relevant to the roofing construction and maintenance industry. The show spans 80,000 net square feet of exhibit space and draws over 7,000 attendees. Hanley Wood will focus on growing both the trade show and educational conference portion of the event, says Galen Poss, President, Hanley Wood Exhibitions. NRCA will continue to run its concurrent annual convention in terms of programming and activities pertaining to association matters.
Bill Good, Executive Director, NRCA, calls the sale of its show and its sponsorship agreement a strategic conclusion. “It was our decision to dedicate our association resources to core member services and issues affecting our members on a daily basis,” he says. Good also notes that Hanley Wood’s experience and resources will result in a bigger and better trade show and education program to support the NCRA membership.
Poss calls the NRCA acquisition a “good fit” with Hanley Wood’s magazine properties. He also says that Hanley Wood Exhibitions will continue looking to expand its holdings within the building and construction industries.
The first Hanley Wood NCRA event will be the February 2005 Show, which will take place February 16-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
