Dallas, TX – Freeman has acquired AVT Event Technologies, an in-house audio-visual provider for hotels that offers full-service audio-visual, staging, lighting and production.
Terms of the acquisition were not announced on February 9, although Freeman CEO Joe Popolo said the move was in line with the company’s strategy of long-term investments where there is opportunity for growth.
The acquisition also takes advantage of a possible recessionary shift in the meetings industry to regional events that are often held at hotels. AVT services 21 hotels, including Hilton, Hyatt and other properties.
The company’s executive leadership will remain in place and will run operations and customer relations separately from Freeman. AVT management will report to Ken Sanders, president of Freeman’s audio-visual division in the U.S.
Martin Kwitschau, founder and CEO of AVT, said joining Freeman made sense in that it provided AVT clients with seamless access to Freeman’s other exhibition services. “AVT will leverage its own premium reputation and service offerings to expand Freeman’s reach into the hospitality market,” he said.
