WASHINGTON, D.C. — The new advocacy group Exhibitions and Conferences Alliance (ECA) has named three executives from some of the industry’s leading organizations to leadership positions on its Board of Directors. Hervé Sedky, CEO of EmeraldX, will serve as the Chair of the Board; Megan Tanel, CEM, Senior Vice President of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, will serve as the Vice Chair; and Bob Priest-Heck, CEO of Freeman, will be the Secretary/Treasurer. The trio was elected during the inaugural ECA Board meeting in early March.

These efforts could not come at a more pivotal time for the industry, with this week’s news of Las Vegas loosening group restrictions and World of Concrete signaling that it will move forward with a live event in June. It will be the city’s first trade show of 2021. “While there is still a lot of work ahead of us, it is encouraging to see that several key cities have begun making plans to reopen business events,” said Goodwin. “As we move towards the road to recovery, this positive news will continue to fuel our determination to reopen the events industry safely across the country.”
