Diversified Communications Expands Australian Portfolio

TSE STAFF

Portland, Maine — Diversified Communications has announced the acquisition of Luxperience, an Australian hosted buyer event focused on luxury travel. It is one of Diversified’s first forays into the hosted buyer segment. The move also is expected to complement the company’s British Tourism & Travel brand.

“It is a new sector for us and (the acquisition) was a good way to augment our portfolio,” said Oakley Dyer, Corporate Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development for Diversified Communications.

Luxperience was launched in 2012 and has been held annually in Sydney, drawing participants from around the world. It has drawn concierge service companies, corporate planners, private club managers and incentive group organizers, among others. Helen Logas, who was instrumental in developing the event, and her staff will join Diversified Communications Australia to continue to develop the hosted buyer event.

Diversified Communications stages more than 150 events annually, with a dozen of those anchored in Australia. Luxperience was the second Australian acquisition this year. In June, the company acquired Naturally Good Expo to align with the company’s Fine Food Australia, FoodPro and FoodTech brands and to expand its global Natural & Organic Products trade show portfolio.
