Los Angeles, CA – Canon Communications continued its expansion across the pond with the acquisition of four manufacturing technology events from U.K.-based Trident Exhibitions Ltd. The shows include IPOT, Machine Vision & Displays Technology, Machine Building, Drives & Automation, Practical Vacuum and MTEC.
Two of Canon’s existing shows, MEDTEC UK and 3C: Contamination Control & Cleanroom Products Exhibition, have already run concurrently with the four Trident shows.
The first time the shows will be run under the Canon name will be February 13-14, 2008 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, U.K. The co-located events will create the largest design and manufacturing event in the U.K., said Charles G. McCurdy, chairman and CEO of Canon Communications.
Founded in 1978, Canon Communications has grown from a one-magazine publishing firm to a diversified media company with 16 B-to-B publications and 22 national and international trade shows.
