CHICAGO Trade Show Executive (TSE) is one of the honored finalists for the Magazine of the Year Award announced on March 7 by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).

The prestigious award is one of four ASBPE “Azbee” awards for which TSE was named a finalist. In addition, the panel of judges selected three TSE articles published in 2018 for regional awards.

“Earning an Azbee is a top honor for those of us in the business publishing world,” said TSE Publisher and Editor Gabrielle Weiss. “It is a tribute to the team effort that goes into covering the trade show industry and telling its inspiring stories. This is an especially poignant moment for us all because this year marks our 20th anniversary.”

Two of the three stories named as an Azbee regional finalist were written by Editor-at-Large Danica Tormohlen. Sandi Cain, former Senior News Editor with TSE, wrote the third.

TSE was named a finalist for the following:

  • National Finalist: Overall Excellence -- Magazine of the Year
  • Regional Finalist: UFI Global Congress Event Recap
  • Regional Finalist: International Tourism Security Conference Keeps Safety at Center Stage on 25th Anniversary
  • Regional Finalist: Women to Watch

The Azbee finalists were selected from more than 1,000 entries submitted by industry associations, B2B, trade and other business publications across the United States. The awards are based on editorial, online and design excellence within magazines, newsletters and digital media.

The national Magazine of the Year winner will be announced May 9 at the National Azbee Awards of Excellence banquet in St. Petersburg, Fla. The regional winners will be named in April.
