ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Atlantic City was rocking Wednesday night as JIS Exchange received the esteemed annual Rock Star Award at the Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 Awards Gala honoring the fastest-growing trade shows of 2018.

Organized by Reed Exhibitions, and led by Yancy Weinrich, JIS Exchange was singled out for the top honors after posting growth rates in all three key metrics that were among the highest of the year in the entire trade show industry.

The JIS brand (JIS stands for Jewelers International Showcase) moved into the spacious Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino last June and made good use of the additional space. Exhibit space grew 66.2% from 27,668 net square feet (nsf) in 2017 to 45,980 nsf in 2018, the second-highest percentage growth of the year for any trade show after MJBizCon. The number of exhibitors at the show grew by the third-highest percentage, 51.6% from 126 to 191 trailing only the Southeast Flooring Market and the NCIA Cannabis Business Summit & Expo (National Cannabis Industry Association). And the jewelry industry responded as well, sending attendance soaring 79.4% to 6,964, the highest jump of any show in 2018.

JIS Exchange was one of three JIS branded shows to be ranked in at least two of the Fastest 50’s metric categories. Two of the three JIS events are held annually in Miami Beach while a fourth show, JIS Delivery, launched this year in San Diego.

It has been a busy time for JIS Exchange and the entire JIS brand. The 2018 JIS Exchange moved to the newly expanded Mandalay Bay and was co-located with Reed’s JCK Las Vegas show. Both shows are headed for the Sands Expo & Convention Center this year where they co-located with a third Reed show, LUXURY.

The Rock Star Award was one of a dozen Grand Awards presented at the Fastest 50 Awards Gala June 18-20, which singled out the shows with the highest growth rates in exhibit space sold: number of exhibiting companies and buyer attendance.
