Milwaukee, WI – The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) named Sara Truesdale Mooney show director for the huge triennial construction show CONEXPO-CON/AGG.
CONEXPO-CON/AGG this year covered some 2.3 million nsf of exhibit space and will likely top the 2015 edition of the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 rankings.
The move was part of a larger realignment of the AEM trade show unit that will allow the previous show director, Megan Tanel, vice president exhibitions & events, to focus more on strategy and planning for the entire AEM events portfolio. Tanel is also preparing to take over as 2015 chair of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events.
Truesdale Mooney is AEM’s senior director of exhibitions and strategy and has been show director for ICUEE – The Demo Expo as well as the head of AEM’s agriculture sector. Her added duties include day-to-day planning for the next CONEXPO-CON/AGG. She joined AEM in 1999.
“One of the ways we develop staff depth is through opportunities for career advancement throughout AEM and an emphasis on staff training,” said Tanel. “The result is a staff that develops a strong knowledge base of our members’ industries.”
Two other members of AEM’s show staff also had their duties changed. Melissa Magestro, senior director of exhibitions, was tabbed as AEM’s staff liaison for its international shows, including CONEXPO Latin America, which launches next year in Chile, and two events serving India and Africa. Rich Prausa, event service manager, continues to serve as AEM staff lead and show manager for the World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo while realigning his role within the association’s events services department to take on more responsibilities.
