Access Intelligence Acquires Energy, Satellite Trade Shows

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Rockville, MD – Access Intelligence, LLC added to its portfolio of energy and satellite conferences and publications when it acquired EnergyOcean and Offshore Communications from Technology Systems Corporation.

EnergyOcean will join Access Intelligence’s Power Group while Offshore Communications will be added to the company’s Satellite Group. Terms of the acquisitions were not announced.

Offshore Communications serves the offshore oil and natural gas industry and will be held November 3-5, 2009 at the Houston Marriott Westchase. It joins a portfolio that includes the SATELLITE 2009 Conference and Exhibition and IP Satellite Summit.

The EnergyOcean conference and exhibition was launched in 2004 and focuses on the development of power generation using the forces of ocean winds, waves, currents and tides. The 2009 event will be held June 16-18 at The Samoset Resort in Rockport, ME.

The small exhibit area is tucked into a 6,500 square-foot meeting room at the resort. But despite its small size, Access Intelligence sees EnergyOcean as a good fit with its other renewable energy shows. “This widely respected event is at the earliest stages of this market and has grown quickly,” said Sean Guerre, senior vice president of Access Intelligence’s Power Group.

The Power Group includes the Electric Power trade show, Power magazine, The Clean Energy Update and The Energy Daily newsletter and website.
