Relive TSE’s Gold 100 Awards & Summit on Video
Oceanside, CA - The Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Awards & Summit was a memorable event, and those who participated, as well as those who couldn’t make it to Santa Barbara September 30-October 2, can now get a look at the Gold 100 Highlight Videos
Show organizers and sponsors also showed off their musical talents — or lack thereof — in the destined-to-be-a-classic musical rendition of “No Business Like Show Business.” This event will be adapted and tweaked in the next Gold Gala with new lyrics, new singers and a surprise guest.
More than 200 top show organizers and other industry leaders spent a productive week at the Bacara Resort, Golf Club and Spa to network, celebrate, and take in a full schedule of thought-provoking sessions. The big celebration came during the Gold 100 Awards Gala night when 19 Gold Grand Awards were presented to the shows that set the bar in 2014 for size and professionalism, from the “Largest Show” to the “Marketing Genius Award” to the “Greatest Show on Earth.”
Full editorial coverage of the winners, the sessions, and the networking events will be published in a special 12-page feature in the December issue of TSE.

Gold 100 Keynote Speaker Jack Uldrich
Oceanside, CA – No one can predict the future accurately but Jack Uldrich can help you prepare for it. Uldrich will kick off this year’s Trade Show Executive (TSE) Gold 100 Awards & Summit with a keynote address focused on the principles of unlearning — or freeing yourself from obsolete knowledge and assumptions — as a strategy to survive and thrive in this era of constant transition.
Uldrich, a prolific author and former Navy intelligence officer, has consulted with Fortune 1000 companies on the value and techniques of avoiding the assumptions and intellectual ruts that can cloud one’s vision of the future. Among the seemingly innocent examples he uses of widespread but outdated knowledge include the seemingly familiar roadside Yield sign, [quick — what color is it? Look again!] and the No. IV (or is it IIII?) on a watch with Roman numerals.
Trade Show Executive Unveils Gold 100 Class of 2014
Oceanside, CA – The roster of trade shows that make up this year’s Trade Show Executive (TSE) Gold 100 has been finalized, and all eyes are now on Santa Barbara, where the biggest and the best will be feted at the upcoming TSE Gold 100 Awards & Summit, September 30-October 2 at the Bacara Resort and Spa on California’s golden Pacific Coast.
Many familiar names are once again Gold 100 shows by virtue of the sheer size of their exhibit floors. Venerable events such as the International CES, International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), MAGIC – August, the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, PACK EXPO and SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) top the list with at least 1 million net square feet of exhibit space apiece. TSE will also honor the biggest of them all – the triennial CONEXPO-CON/AGG and its record exhibit floor which could easily pass for a subdivision of Las Vegas.
Many other giants will be honored, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, International Vision Expo East, the Nightclub & Bar Convention &Trade Show, The Rental Show, Surfaces and more.
Idyllic Santa Barbara Awaits Gold 100 Class of 2014
Santa Barbara, CA – The 2015 Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Awards & Summit takes place once again on the scenic California coast, and this year’s venue is one of the most special in the event’s history.
Known as the “American Riviera,” Santa Barbara has long been a favorite getaway spot for travelers and an idyllic retreat for celebrities. The elite of the trade show industry will get a heady taste of the lifestyle on September 30-October 2 at the famed Bacara Resort and Spa located a few short miles north of the city on the shore of the Pacific Ocean.
The Bacara is rated one of the “Top 5 Resorts in Southern California” by Conde Nast Traveler, and has been recognized in three separate categories by the Forbes Travel Guide. The Bacara embodies the romance of the California Hacienda style and will be a fitting locale for the annual salute to the biggest and best trade shows of 2014.
