Atlanta — Exhibitions service provider Shepard has expanded its presence on the U.S. West Coast by acquiring San Francisco-based McCune Audio-Visual-Lighting.

McCune, which has branch offices in Anaheim and Monterey, Calif., will be added to the audio-visual division that Shepard launched just last year. Shepard is based in Atlanta and has western U.S. branches in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.

“It is an exciting time for Shepard AV,” said Stuart Danneman, Executive Vice President of Shepard AV. “This acquisition will help us accelerate our growth in the western region, and allow us to continue providing the highest level of service standards to all of our current customers.”

Terms of the acquisition, which was announced nearly one year after the launch of Shepard AV, were not revealed. All of McCune’s approximately 40 employees will join Shepard AV.

McCune has been in business for more than 75 years with business centered mainly around corporate meetings, conferences, and concerts as well as trade shows. Its lineage extends back to Beatles concerts in the 1960s and the signing of the United Nations charter in 1945. Their resume also includes two Super Bowls, the 1984 Olympics, and the Google Users Group conference.

“McCune shares the same passion as Shepard in that we are committed to providing best-in-class service and responsiveness to every customer we serve,” said Allan McCune, president of McCune.
