Chicago – In April, more than 120 show organizers turned Chicago into the center of the exhibitions industry as the Windy City hosted the Trade Show Executive (TSE) Fastest 50 Awards & Summit.

Highlights of the annual event that honors the fastest-growing trade shows of the previous year included the naming of Firehouse Expo as the coveted Rockstar show of the year and a tie between Reed Exhibitions and AmericasMart Atlanta for most shows on the combined Fastest 50 and Next 50 Classes of 2016.

“The Fastest 50 represents the highest growth rates of the past year and is a testament to the economic strength of the exhibitions industry,” said TSE Publisher/Editor Gabrielle Weiss. “As one of the top trade show cities in the world, Chicago could not have been a better host for the Fastest 50 Awards & Summit.”

SouthComm Business Media, LLC acquired Firehouse Expo in 2014 and two years later was overseeing the show that topped all three Fastest 50 growth metrics with a 56.2% increase in exhibit space, an 86.4% jump in exhibitors and a dizzying 100.9% increase in attendance. The performance of Firehouse Expo netted SouthComm three Fastest 50 Grand Awards, including the Rockstar Award, which honors exceptional growth, execution and overall excellence.
