PARIS – Messe Frankfurt continued expanding its share of the textile-care industry in December by acquiring the sector’s leading trade show in France and their second show in the sector in a month.

The German organizer’s Paris division, Messe Frankfurt France, took over ownership of JET Expo, a biennial exhibition held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. It was the latest move to beef up Messe Frankfurt’s growing international roster of trade shows in the textile-care and dry-cleaning arena.

“JET Expo is a strong element of Messe Frankfurt’s global strategy,” Messe Frankfurt said in its announcement. “Messe Frankfurt is becoming the undisputed leader in the textile care market worldwide.”

Messe Frankfurt earlier this month acquired The Clean Show, a biennial Trade Show Executive Gold 100 show held in Atlanta, and also this year merged its Texcare Asia show with China Laundry Expo.

The portfolio is headed by Texcare International, a quadrennial expo that returns to Frankfurt in 2020. Messe Frankfurt also organizes Texcare Paris, a semi-annual show at Paris – Le Bourget that attracts about 1,000 exhibitors.

JET Expo was launched in 2005 and was last held in 2017. The show featured more than 3,000 square meters (32,292 square feet) of exhibit space and drew 3,500 attendees. The show was marketed to the French-speaking world. However, 25% of the 2017 vendors was international, as was about 15% of attendees. The next edition of JET Expo takes place May 19-20, 2019.

The transaction also included the co-located Vet’Image for the uniform and professional clothing sector. It will become part of Messe Frankfurt’s Apparel Sourcing Paris.
