Marketplace Events Adds Seven Home Shows to Roster

Cleveland, OH –  Marketplace Events acquired the Calgary Homexpo to go along with a half dozen other similar events it plans to launch in the coming months.

Marketplace, which was itself acquired by Sentinel Capital Partners earlier this year, is already strong in the Canadian market and is targeting several major U.S. markets with six launches slated for the 2016-2017 show calendar.

"It’s a very exciting time for Marketplace Events," said CEO Tom Baugh.  “We are well positioned for growth and under Sentinel’s ownership, and we are able to be more aggressive in acquiring and launching shows in the home improvement sector.”

The Calgary Homexpo was acquired from the CHBA-UDI Calgary Region, a building industry association. It will be rebranded the Calgary Renovation Show and take place January 13-15 at BMO Centre.

Marketplace Events has a portfolio of 47 consumer-oriented shows, including 31 home shows in the U.S. and 14 in Canada. The roster included six seasonal home shows to launch in Nashville, Kansas City, Oklahoma City and Richmond. VA. Two of the new shows will take place in Minneapolis.  Richmond and Nashville are new markets for Marketplace Events.
