London, UK – Britain’s ITE Group named Mark Shashoua, one of the company’s founders in the 1990s and former managing director, to succeed CEO Russell Taylor, who will be stepping down at the end of the Summer.

Shashoua will be leaving his position as CEO of i2i Events Group, a position he held since 2011. He was the co-founder of Expomedia Group in 2000.

Shashoua said he was “delighted” about his return to ITE, and saluted Taylor for ITE’s expansion into China, India and Africa. “The company enjoys many market-leading events in the geographies it serves and I look forward to actively developing the business moving forward,” he said.

Taylor, who was named CEO in 2008, departs September 1. He said he and the company’s leadership had been discussing a succession plan for some time. “I know Mark well and have every confidence that he will be a successful leader for ITE,” he said.

ITE Group organizes more than 240 exhibitions and conferences worldwide in a variety of sectors. It announced earlier this year that it had acquired a majority stake in the Indian organizing company ABEC. It also announced the pending launch of Oil, Rail & Ports Iran in Tehran.

Under Shashoua, the i2i portfolio has expanded to 26 countries, including the US.  Its leading brands include Bett and Money 20/20. The London-based company did not immediately reveal its plan to replace Shashoua.
