COLUMBIA, Md. — a2z Inc., a technology solution provider for B2B events, has been acquired by Personify, a 20-year old company that offers a constituent management and engagement (CME) platform for nonprofits. In 1998, a2z CEO Rajiv Jain, founded the company, which now has 80 employees and more than 400 customers of which Emerald Expositions is the largest. Jain will continue to lead the a2z team as part of the Personify Events business, reporting to Personify President and CEO Eric Thurston.

“I am delighted to have a2z join the Personify family and provide our clients with a more integrated experience,” Thurston said. “The combination of Personify and a2z events provides an unrivaled set of solutions for delivering value across channels — making every interaction matter.”

Personify and a2z already share a number of clients, and the combined company will offer an integrated suite of tech products for associations. “Personify is the long-standing leader in technology solutions,” Jain said. “As a part of Personify, we see an extraordinary opportunity to further accelerate our momentum and deliver combined value to organizations around the world.”

In September, Rubicon Technology Partners, a private equity firm specializing in mid-market enterprise software company investments, completed the sale of Personify to Pamlico Capital. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We will have immediate to access to financial resources to grow the business,” Jain told Trade Show Executive. “a2z has been growing at about 25% annually, but we want to grow 5 times in the next three to five years.”

a2z provides trade show organizers with cloud-based solutions for exhibit sales and event management products, including online floor plans, event websites, abstract/speaker management, matchmaking tools, personal itinerary builder and mobile apps.
